This Easter, Godiva has gone above and beyond to create a truly extra ordinary egg.
In 2015, Godiva’s giant showpiece egg was available exclusively to one of the most prestigious department stores in London; Harrods. Following the success, Godiva couldn’t resist to create 15 of these works of art to ensure more people has the opportunity to own one of these!
Jean Apostolou, Godiva’s head chef chocolatier based in Brussels hand-crafted 15 of these giant showpiece eggs available now in our flagships stores; Opéra in Paris, Sablon and Stéphanie in Brussels and Regents Street, Harrods and Selfridges in London. Alongside these extra large eggs, two hundred smaller versions, just as intricate, are available from select stores.

One showpiece Atelier egg weighs an astonishing 14.5 kg, is over a metre tall and took 4 hours to hand decorate. This shows true dedication and craftsmanship; the result is purely sensational!
Belgian lace is at the heart of this design, another fine export of Belgium. Chef Jean experimented and delicately piped chocolate lacing over the front of the shell. The chocolate laces are made of milk, white and dark chocolate. The other chocolate shell is sprayed with pure milk chocolate and the signature ‘G’ is embossed in gold dust powder. A thick layer of chocolate secures the two halves together and Godiva’s dark chocolate carrés are added along the seam. The design is deliberately and deceptively simple, to allow the premium quality of the Atelier Egg to shine through.
